Final details for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes this week, with Nintendo announcing a prolonged Direct Video presentation scheduled for Thursday, November 1st. While some surprises can still emerge between now and launch, we expect everything from a complete list to details about more game modes.
We knew that Nintendo was planning a presentation of Smash sometime in November, but we certainly did not expect it to be the first day of the month. In other words, we do not have much more to wait to get answers to all our burning questions about the game. The presentation will take place at 1
It will be an early morning for some people, but we think about 40 minutes presentation will be worth it considering the fact that it will host the game director Masahiro Sakurai. The announcement states that the presentation will focus on "new information" for Smash Bros. Ultimate which leads us to wonder how much Nintendo could have left talking about. We of course have some ideas, but much is pure speculation.
We certainly know that this will be Sakurai's opportunity to talk about the game's mysterious mode, which was blurred and just suggested in the last direct. There are rumors that it is called "Spirit Mode", but again we can not be sure of anything before Sakurai makes an official announcement. Since they have not really discussed singleplayer content until this point, it seems like a sure bet that whatever the mode will be focused on some solo activities.
Another possibility is that the router and levels are actually completed. More can always be added via DLC, but until now, Nintendo has made strong hints that more announcements are incoming. Since this is the last Smash Just before launch, it seems as though we get some news on Thursday in the relevant departments. A rumor began to circulate last week about a crop of new playable characters, but again we will not give too much weight to rumors before Nintendo does things officially. Do we actually want Street Fighter Ken, Isaac from Golden Sun or Banjo-Kazooie ? Only time will tell.
After 40 minutes Smash Direct, the broadcast will immediately switch to a Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation. Smash Bros. will kick things, presumably give the team the opportunity to showcase new characters, levels or modes discussed in the first presentation. Then you can expect gameplay and details for Diablo 3 Pokemon Let's Go Games and Yoshi's Crafted World .
Just a few days left before the rest of the curtain is withdrawn, please take the opportunity to share remaining "wish list" items in the comments below.
