If you want to play Final Fantasy VII in HD on your PC could wait for the remake to be ported, otherwise you can play the original game using this mode that uses artificial intelligence to upscale the visuals.
While I’ve written about witchcraft like this before –with this game, even!—This latest effort from Satsuki Yatoshi uses “deep learning techniques” to transform the game’s low-resolution pixels and polygons into a look that is a lot sharper, and represents a major improvement over older efforts, especially since this is much easier to install and get started.
“The main goal of SYW mod is to get as much detail as possible without having an oversharp and overclean effect,” says the mod’s YouTube page, “also to keep the rendering as natural and consistent in quality throughout the game.”
So basically it goes HD without going also HD, to the point where everything starts to look a little too clean and weird and rough.
