Fallout 76 is a completely different type of Fallout game, with a new focus on multiplayer across a massive open world. Bethesda puts it through its steps with a beta test release later this month, and you can participate in helping you explore the waste and collect technical feedback before the official launch. There is even a pre-beta stress test that a selection of fans will access. Here is everything to know about the beta.
When does the beta start?
Fallout 76 beta begins October 23th on Xbox One, and then expand to PC and PlayStation 4 the following week 30th of October. If you have received a code, you may not necessarily be invited to the first wave. Bethesda plans to start small to stress test the game and expand slowly, so the actual start date may vary.
A self-pre-beta stress test will also run from 1
How long will the beta last?
Bethesda has not given a specific beta end date, but it has explained that the servers will not be available 24/7 during the beta period. The studio says there will be "targeted time frames" to force interested players together at the same time, which will again mark a better technical test. The game may be available for 4-8 hours on a given day, with Bethesda making adjustments and repairs during off-season. This process will repeat a few days before launch on November 14th.
How do I get in?
Beta will be available solely for those who pre-order the game across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Digital pre-orders are automatically added to the pool while physical pre-orders will receive a code to enter the account page once the beta has passed live on the chosen platform.
It is important to note that this code is not the bet code you enter to access the game download itself. Instead, the pre-order code is the one you enter into Bethesda's system to be inserted into the code for pooling. A separate code, which gives you access to the installation, will follow at a later time as Bethesda rolls out its invitations.
Meanwhile, you can be sure that you are prepared by creating a free Bethesda.net login. Also, ensure that you have an active Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership if you play on both consoles since they will be required to access the only online game.
Is the beta the whole game?
Fallout 76 beta is the full experience, and Bethesda says that it is currently planning to let the players continue to move on to the whole game. Console players must, however, download the launch version, while PC players do not have to download a new version at the launch. Beta will be 45 GB.
How do I send feedback?
Bethesda invites you to feedback on many different social media.
What more will I receive for advance booking?
Aside from beta access, advance order will give you 500 Atoms – Fallout 76s games in currency. Atoms let you buy cosmetic items from the store. Bethesda has indicated that Atoms will be abundant, but as we have not seen the store or prices yet, it's hard to say how far 500 atoms will go.
