A former McDonalds employee has revealed his ultimate ‘life hack’ to prevent crispy fries from getting damp every time.

Bruno Bouchet, from Sydney, worked as a crew coach at a McDonald’s Brisbane outlet while in high school from 2000 to 2003 between the ages of 14 and 17.

The now 35-year-old radio personality said that it is a ‘life hack’ he has stuck to until now that can help solve a ‘super common problem’ that most customers face: ‘How do you stop your chips from getting damp? ? ‘

‘When you are in transit, you get your chips, they end up getting damp. So I’ll tell you … the mistake everyone makes is to close the top of the bag containing the chips, ‘Bruno told KIISFM radio duo Kyle and Jackie O.

‘Because you would think that if I did it nicely and airtight, the heat would keep the chips warm – wrong, what it actually does is steam the potatoes, leaving you with sloppy chips. So you actually steam them when you close the bag. ‘

However, Bruno said it was an easy way to get around the dilemma.

‘So hacking is easy, you need the heat to escape,’ he explained.

Finally, stack the bags so that they are horizontal at the bottom – and you put burgers on top of the chips to keep them warm.

His life hack comes just one year after he shared his insider knowledge after working for the fast food chain for three years.

Bruno said that the biggest secret item on the menu when he worked was Bacon McFlurry.

‘You want to mix bacon bits and caramel sauce into a McFlurry – it was amazing. Think of it as the McFlurry version of Canadian pancakes, ‘Bruno told the Daily Mail Australia.

“This was such a protected secret that even some leaders had never heard of it before. The secret was only circulated among employees in the back area who had worked there for ages.

‘To order it at a McDonald’s you did not have a hook on, you would ask to talk to the oldest looking guy in the kitchen and pray to god he knew what you were talking about when you mentioned “Bacon McFlurry”. ‘

During his time there, Bruno claimed that the staff in the area behind had a jam bowl that was used by employees to process cuts and burns.

‘When I started at McDonald’s, an older guy taught me this’ life hack ‘that involved the giant jam buckets we had in the kitchen,’ he said.

‘He explained that if you ever cut or burned yourself, you just dipped your hand in the brine for 30 seconds and everything would be fine. I tried it a few times and was blown away by how the bleeding would stop almost immediately. ‘
