It's again the special time of year when we give you a chance to do well in doing well. That's right – it's time for the 2018 edition of our annual Charity Drive.
Each year since 2007, we have actively encouraged readers to give to the Penny Arcade Children's Play Charity, which provides toys and games for children treated in hospitals around the world. In recent years, we have added the Electronic Frontier Foundation to our annual charity press, and help their efforts to defend Internet freedom. This year, as always, we give a little extra incentive to those donations by offering donors a chance to win pieces of our big bunch of supplier-given swag. We can not keep it (ethically), and we will still not clog our offices. Now it's yours to win.
This year's swag pile is full of high-quality geekgodies. We have almost 20 prizes of almost $ 5,000 in value including game consoles, computer accessories, collectibles, smartwatches and more. By 201
How it works
Donation is easy. Just donate to Child's Play using PayPal or donate to EFF using PayPal, Credit Card or Bitcoin. You can also support Child's Play directly by picking an item from the Amazon Wish List to a particular hospital on its donation page. Donate as much or as little as you feel comfortable with – every little bit helps.
When done, it's time to register the listing in our competitors. Just take a digital copy of your receipt (a forwarded email, screen, or just a cut and paste the text) and send it to ArsCharityDrive@gmail.com with your name, mailing address, phone number for daytime and email address at 11:59 ET Thursday, January 7, 2019. (One entry per person and each person can only win a prize. Only US residents. DO NOT BUY NECESSARY. See official rules for more information including how to enter without We will then contact the winners and have them choose their prize by January 31st. (Selection takes place in the order winners are withdrawn.)
Here are quick descriptions of some of the greatest, most desirable
Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals
Our own Lee Hutchinson called these pedals "the best flight impedals you can buy in a store like a regular person" in its Review earlier this year. But he can not hold them like a normal person, and his loss can be your win!
PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition
We took this beauty out of the box to get some photos earlier this year, so take it right back to know some lucky readers would be winning it in this charity drive . Despite the misleading name (in honor of 500 million PlayStation consoles sold), 50,000 devices were sold and sold out quickly, so this could be your best chance to get your hands on this collection console.
Garmin Fenix 5S Plus Smartwatch
The headline of Valentina Paladino's Ars review of this high-end smart clock sums it up: "So able, so enviable, so expensive." The last part may not apply to you, though, if you win this much sought after smartwatch in our competitions.
Cyberpunk 2077 E3 Press Exclusive Statue
Ar's Sam Machkovech was quite impressed by the demo behind the doors he got to CD Project Red's Cyberpunk 2077 on E3 this year. In addition to memories, he walked away from the demo with a limited edition statue, just released to demo participants on E3 and Gamescom. You can go away from this competition with the same statue.
