EA announces the start date of Anthem's closed alpha • Eurogamer.net

EA has announced that the closed alpha for BioWare's upcoming multiplayer space shooter Anthem will begin December 8 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

While EA says the closed beta event – which runs from December 8 to December 9th – it is an opportunity for the players to experience the game. It also warns that BioWare will "adjust things like matchmaking and server load on airplanes". As such, the event is "more limited than what we want to share in pre-launch demos".

Given Anthem Closed Alpha's limited nature, players who wish to join, must sign up for EA's Community Playtest program by December 3rd. Access will be available on all platforms ̵

1; PC, Xbox One and PS4 – but participants can only register to play on a device.

EA also notes that more game sessions are held during the two days and that players can participate in as many of them as they like. Full details can be found on the publisher's Anthem Closed Alpha page.

Anthem, scheduled to launch February 22, next year, has struggled to win over fans who are skeptical of the game's dramatic departure from BioWare's traditional, rich singleplayer fare. As a result, the study in Anthem has continued to assure society that it is the demand for more Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

A new BioWare blog post published earlier today has once called "some secret dragon Age stuff" that the developer is currently working on. "Look for more about this in the coming month (although I do not want to tell you where to see …)" wrote it.
