The Microsoft ad is taking a turn on Apple iPad Microsoft Surface Go (Photo: Microsoft) "Microsoft Surface Go" width = "580" data-mycapture-src = "" data-mycapture-sm-src = What is a computer? " It was the question in a iPad advertisement last year that a teenager lived her life on an iPad. A year later, in her latest holiday advertisement, Microsoft has an answer – and it was not an iPad. A Christmas riff rifle "Grandmother got rid of a clean" 30-second place has a little girl who deals with her grandmother when they pass a Microsoft Store and cause the girl to burst into the song about the benefits of Windows 10-powered, $ 399 Surface Go tablet and throw some jabs in Apple's direction. The girl cries on iPad by name and says it was "nice when I was 6 but now I'm 10" and that she needs "a real computer" to fulfill her dreams of coding and the help of manatees. At $ 399, Surface Go Microsoft's direct competitor for the regular iPad, which traditionally sells at $ 329 (although holiday discounts on both can make current prices a bit more difficult.) This model runs Windows 10, has 64 GB of storage and a USB C port, the modern version of USB that even Apple has adopted for its latest iPad Pros. It has a 10-inch display, slightly larger than the regular iPad's 9.7-inch display. Surface Go is a solid computer, especially if you mostly use it for most tasks people use the devices. It's okay to surf the web, check email or Instagram, watch YouTube or Netflix, and write up documents in Word. But again, to do these tasks, an iPad is an equally solid choice, like a Google Chromebook.
