Discord has become the latest company to take a page from Clubhouse. It introduces a feature called Stage Channels that allows you to broadcast a live audio call to a group of listeners without worrying about people talking over each other and some of the other pitfalls that come with traditional voice channels. So-called stage moderators are there to make sure everything goes smoothly. They have the power to silence or even remove someone while they are talking. As an audience, you can specify when you want to speak. A moderator will lead you to the voice queue and then back to the audience once you have shared your piece.
Currently, Stage Channels are only available to shared servers. Unlike a server you can set up for you and your friends to get together and chat, they come with special requirements. For example, Discord says that communities must have clearly laid down rules for members to follow. Nevertheless, even with these guidelines, stage channels are widely available.
