Blizzard has addressed rumors that Diablo 3 gets cross-play support. Although the developer knows the players' excitement, it is confirmed that Diablo 3 cross-play is not currently working.
"While we love the idea of bringing our players together across platforms, we have no plans to implement cross-platform games for Diablo at this time," said a Blizzard rep to the Comic Book. Diablo 3 is available on several different platforms, including consoles from two different generations. With Sony's decision to try out cross-platform game console with Microsoft and Nintendo in Fortnite, some players have watched other games that may be in favor of cross-play. With Diablo 3 on so many platforms, it has been a popular candidate.
Before Comic Books confirmation, in an interview with Business Insider, a Blizzard rep said that the Diablo 3 platform game was "a matter of when, not if." This led to more rumors that the Dungeon Quest game would support cross-play soon. Some theorized feature may be announced on this year's BlizzCon, but ̵
Blizzard has previously issued a statement that there were more Diablo projects in the works. The first Diablo 3 comes to Nintendo Switch, has already been announced. However, Blizzard has not revealed what the other projects may be. "Some of them will take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year," said Brandy Camel, chief executive officer.
BlizzCon 2018 starts November 2nd.
