Demo just for Xbox One today.
Devil May Cry 5 received a short new trailer during The Game Awards last night, but Capcom has released an extended trailer and more information about the new character V.
V is touted as a deceptively strong character that can call three different demons to help him in battle. Shadow is a fast panther-like creature that can morph into knives and needles for close-up combat. Griffon is a bird-like demon that can carry V over large areas and fire beams of light to destroy incoming enemies. Nightmare is a massive demon that breaks enemies coming in its way and can also use light rays.
By using all the three demons to benefit, V can enter battle after the enemy's health has been knocked down to get a final blow with his stick attack. V and his demons can be seen in action in the expanded trailer below.
Capcom has also announced the return of Bloody Palace Mode available in all DMC games except the original. This "quick elimination mode" comes as a free update shortly after launch, and players have captured hordes of enemies and bosses until they reach a goal.
DMC5's Dark Souls-like Cameo System has also been detailed. With this, players' worlds can collide with other demonists when players are online. Co-workers can make representations and can even help you defeat demons in some cases. How accurate players can select in or out of the system is currently unclear.
Capcom also announced that the first demo of DMC5 comes exclusively to Xbox One today. The free demo has players like Nero in Red Grave City. He will take on several demons, such as Mighty Goliath, and can perform special attacks using his Devil Breaker arms. His Red Queen Sword and Blue Rose gun will see the players through to the end of the demo.
