On the Blizzard stage at Gamescom in 2018, Bungies Steve Cotton and Steve Taylor took the spotlight to announce a Gambit Trial for all Destiny 2 players only a few days before Forsaken expansion releases. Beginning Saturday, September 1
Pitting players against both enemies of the Light and other Guardians, Gambit melds all the best parts of both co-op and competitive experiences, while everything gives its own twist. A fierce competition takes place in two separate arenas as players run against the bankruptcy and encourage a boss's enemy. During this time, players can invade the second team's arena to throw a wrench into the works and make things a little more difficult for them. Gambit is just one of the many new features that come with Destiny 2: Forsaken, An extension that Bungie says will be will Destiny was always meant to be.
Last week, Bungie became the detailed Gambit's progression system, similar to Crucible and Vanguard. Gambit's ranking system is called Infamy and will only increase (more points for victory, less for loss). Each of the five well-known groups will now have three separate levels within them to reward players to rank more often. Drifter-Gambit's supplier-will also have bounties available specifically for Gambit. All this will culminate in exclusive Gambit equipment that you can not get from playing any other modes.
It is not yet clear how Gambit's free trial on September 1 will work. Will the supplier be available, or is it just a node that can be elected from the director at this time? Will propulsion carry over to Cause full start? We have reached Bungie for further comments.
We had a chance to go together with Gambit earlier this year and we loved every moment of the frenetic game and called the hybrid mode a "game changer". Each and every decision must be made in a split second and games can be played differently from each other.
