Dell has revealed a selection of new medium-sized 2-in-1 PCs that start at $ 460 and pack the latest Intel processors.
The new machines, revealed to coincide with the IFA conference in Germany, contain two new areas of 2-in-1 computers and a new Chromebook, along with updates to Dell's existing business and consumer batteries.
Dell Inspiron 5000
Starting at $ 459.99, 14-inch Dell Inspiron 5000 2-in-1 Operations starts at 8th generation Intel Core processors, offering up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and supporting fast storage options like NVMe SSDs connected via the PCIe bus, dual drive configurations and Intel Optane Memory.

Available in two versions, 5481 and 5482, 5481 has a 1,366 x 768 screen, while the more expensive 5482 includes a 1920 x 1080 screen. $ 599.99 5482 also includes a USB Type C port that supports DisplayPort, and provides a single port that can be used to connect displays, charging and data transfer.
The IPS touchscreen supports a digital active pen, and if 3D graphics are important that it is available with an optional Nvidia MX130 GPU.
Dell Inspiron 7000
If you're willing to pay a little more, Dell also announced its Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 range, starting at $ 879.99.
Available as a 13, 15 or 17-inch machine, the Inspiron 7000 Series also includes 8th generation Intel processors, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, but comes with NVMe SSDs by default.
Although laptops come with a 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS touchscreen, the smaller models are also available with an optional 4K display, offering 72% color coverage and 300 nits of typical brightness.
The design of the 13 and 15 inch versions will take place thanks to the three-sided narrow borders surrounding the screen. Dell says this has been made possible thanks to a new 2.7 mm miniature webcam that captures clearer and less noisy images in low light.
17-inch 7000 2-in-1, features a 17.3-inch FHD IPS touchscreen, and ships with an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 to deliver better graphics performance and Intel Optane memory to increase storage performance.
The 17-inch machine will also support Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa from the fall.

Dell also revealed what it called "its first premium Chromebook", Dell Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1.

19659002] The 2-in-1 device features a 14-inch FHD IPS display with an aluminum, slim side crown.
Dell requires that the computer has up to 15 hours of battery life while running on an 8th generation Intel Core i3-8130U CPU and offers up to 128GB of onboard eMMC storag e.
Other important features include USB Type C ports, a standard backlit keyboard and standard EMR pen with the built-in holder in the portable base.
Dell also expanded its XPS and Vostro portable lines. The XPS family gets a cheaper alternative, XPS 13 with an 8th generation Intel i3 processor, starting at $ 899.99. XPS 13 Developer Edition is now also available with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
The XPS 13 2-i-1 is also upgraded to use Intel's latest 8th generation processors and comes with a dynamic power mode that Dell says can provide up to 15 hours of battery life.
Meanwhile, the Vostro series gets new Vostro 14 and 15 laptops. These laptops have the latest Intel Core processors, a USB Type C port and an optional single sign-on fingerprint reader.
Reflecting their business focus, the new Vostro machines offer Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module 2.0) TPM, which provides commercial protection and storage for encryption keys to verify a device, as well as Bitlocker to configure security settings.
Power consumption should also be reduced with Peak Shift, which reduces power consumption by automatically switching the battery power system at certain times of the day.
Vostro 5581 will be available November 9, starting from $ 579, and Vostro 5481 will be available January 2, 2019, starting at $ 669.
