DBrand, known mostly for leather and cases for mobile devices, has launched its own version of matte black side panels for PlayStation 5, and goes so far as to dare Sony to sue them over it. Unlike other companies that have canceled plans, it seems convinced that it has an iron-clad case. Only time will tell if that is true.
Since the launch fans of the PS5, there has been a demand for replacement of side panels, especially after a concentration of the console revealed how easy it was to slide the side panels off. Since then, some companies have tried, but Sony has intervened ̵
The matte black side panels cost $ 50 (a discount from the usual $ 60 they will return to in the future) and the first three waves of awards have already sold out. Right now, the company is backordering a shipment that will expire in May, while orders for the digital PS5 have not yet opened. Of course, it is possible that Sony may even have its own record offer at some point. You do not need to do any real demolition to get the boards replaced. They are designed to be popped off, in fact, so you can vacuum dust periodically through special chambers in your body.
DBrand also produces leather for the center front panel of the PS5, in case you want to get rid of the fingerprint smooth surface. There are simple matte leathers in neon yellow, black and white, as well as a more personal design to choose from. These can be included with the purchase of the side plates for $ 12 or purchased alone for $ 20.
DBrand does not shy away from challenging Sony to stop selling its products, and even go so far as to etch its own unique patterns in the side panels to mimic the thousands of PlayStation symbols present on Sony’s white. The company seems confident that these products will be shipped when promised, with the first batch coming this month.
