Even if you feel a little exhausted by neon-lit cyberpunk aesthetics in your video games, you have to give newcomers Turbo Overkill credit for an important combat innovation: It has chainsaws. In Trigger Happy Interactive’s new fast-paced first-person shooter, your leg can become a chainsaw. Pair it with Defeated-style gliding, and you have what looks like a fun Doom-inspired shooter on your radar.
Turbo Overkill looks like a cybernetic homicide ballet in the debut trailer. The player, like a violent killing machine tasked with cleaning up the streets of Neo-paradise, can wall run, double jump, air draft and chainsaw slide. They can also shoot many weapons.
The game proudly carries its visual and game influences (OutRun, steam wave, Duke Nukem, and Trembling) on the sleeve and on the Steam side, where the developer also promises “excessive driving and splitting”
Trigger Happy Interactive has Turbo Overkill scheduled for release on PC “soon ™.”
