CD Projekt RED has announced too early when players can expect free downloadable content Cyberpunk 2077.
The Cyberpunk 2077 the site has been updated with a new page, dedicated to the game’s future content. When it is discovered, the site also releases the first details of when players can expect to see new DLC.
According to the website, “free DLC will start hitting Night City in early 2021”, indicating that the first parts of the content will be within the first quarter of the year. You can see the entire website here.
Back in September, CD Projekt RED stated in a conference call about details about content after launch for Cyberpunk 2077 would soon be revealed. At the time, it said players could expect the same roadmap as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which saw a mix of free add-ons and paid extensions.
While very little was shared in relation to what was to come Cyberpunk 2077, the company added that there will be “a series of free DLCs and extensions”.
By comparison, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received 16 free add-on packages after the launch which included new hairstyles, armor and side quests. The two expansions added a significant amount of new content with brand new locations, stories and gameplay elements over 20-30 hour campaigns.
It is unclear what content DLC will entail. The add-on also comes with two significant updates, which are said to fix a host of issues that plague the game and its performance on the latest generation systems.
Players recently discovered an entire railway system in Cyberpunk 2077, which was eventually cut before the game’s release.
