It besieged Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 13 million copies, but the founders of the developer CD Projekt Red have lost 1 billion dollars.

Bloomberg reports that (from December 15 to five days after the game’s launch) CD Project Red’s founders have lost an estimated $ 1 billion USD. The developer was founded by Marcin Iwiński, and Michał Kiciński. Kiciński left the company in 2013, and Iwiński is the company’s CEO along with Adam Kiciński (who is also the company’s president).

We previously reported how CD Project Red’s share value just three days after the game’s launch fell by 29%. Bloomberg reported that total shares had fallen by a third.

According to Business Insider, the stock closed at € 98.80 per share on December 4, closing at € 60.72 on December 30 – the first time stock value has started to rise again since the fall. The company’s shares had previously fallen to € 73.80 per share on October 30 (shortly after announcing the last delay for the game), and € 50.00 per share on March 12.

Bloomberg also reported that analyst estimates Cyberpunk 2077Sales over 12 months fell from 30 million to 25.6 million after the game was launched. However, CD Projekt has revealed that as of December 20, the game sold over 13 million copies. This number is after considering refund requests via email directly to the developer.

CD Projekt Red had previously announced that the game had sold 8 million copies through pre-orders; consists of 59% PC and 41% consoles, with 74% digital and 26% physical.

As previously reported, the game’s many delays and leaks were not the end of the road for CD Project Red. One reviewer had a major epileptic seizure, accusing the developer of basing the Braindance headset on a medical device designed to intentionally induce seizures.

Despite high praise from initial reviews, Metacritic user scores were far lower. Currently, Metascore for the PC version of the game is 86, with a user score of 7.2 (out of 10). Meanwhile, the game’s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One user scores are 3.4 and 4.7, respectively (with Metascores at 54 and 61, respectively).

It should be noted that those who have not played the game can also submit user reviews, as Metacritic does not verify whether a user has completed or played a game. In February, for example, a user of Reset Era arranged the through-bombing of AI: Somnium Files.

Metacritic placed a 36-hour grace period on user reviews for video games in July this year. Metacritic would later insist that this decision was not motivated by reactions to a particular game. That year also says low user reviews for Warcraft III: Reforged, and The Last of Us del II.

Users complained Cyberpunk 2077are many bugs and errors, along with poor optimization, and the console version has poorer graphics. CD Projekt Red had to recommend fans to complete the game quickly and avoid creating too many things to prevent the storage of file corruption, which was later patched. Even critics praising the game also discussed these issues.

CD Projekt Red apologized for the game’s advertising and launch, and offered a full refund. However, two lawsuits have been filed by investors – one in Poland is also a lawyer.

A Q&A investor call allegedly had CD Projekt Red who denied that they had special agreements for reimbursement for Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles, and that they worked with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game “until the last minute. ”

Both Sony and Microsoft stated that they would offer a full refund for the game. Sony wanted to remove the game from PlayStation Store, but it was “no calls“By Microsoft who removes it from theirs.

While it was mentioned in the aforementioned Q&A investor call that the team was focused on fixing the game before any discussion about the game’s multiplayer or free DLC, a website was recently discovered with the first free DLC launched in early 2021.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on Windows PC (via Epic Games, GOG and Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. The game also comes to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S in 2021, and players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One respectively will be able to upgrade to the next generation for free.
