Current generation Madden NFL 21 owners can upgrade to PS5, Xbox Series versions one day early

“The PlayStation 5 version of the game is not yet connected to the servers, as we are doing the final testing on a problem that we have submitted a solution to,” reads a post on EA Madden forums from EA. “We will provide updates tonight on the distribution as we enter the launch, but the game can be played offline in the meantime.”

Although it was previously stated by EA that physical copies of the game do not allow upgrades to the next generation versions of the game on only digital consoles such as the PS5 Digital Edition and Series S, EA now states that “you must contact EA Help to validate the purchase by using your account information to receive your free upgrade. “

Players trying to jump from a physically current generation copy of the game will not be able to access the next generation versions on their digital consoles until the game’s official launch on December 4th.
