Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the last game to jump on the battle royale train with the release of the brand new mode titled "Danger Zone."
Over the last few days, the CS: GO community has been buzzing with rumors centered around the possibility of a new battle royal mode for the classic title.
6. In December, these rumors were confirmed by revealing the new "Danger Zone" mode, which will provide a unique CS: GO spin on the popular genre.
Unlike most combat royal titles, this mode will only contain 18 players (16 players for Solos), but will still have the same concept with a constantly shrinking zone that players must navigate.
Another big difference is the exclusion of the typical four-player squad variant, with a danger zone with solos, duos and trios modes at launch.
Developers have confirmed that all weapons have the same behavior and damage as they do in regular CS: GO game modes, but players have 120HP in the Danger Zone, which means that matches will play a lot differently.
Instead of just searching for weapons scattered all over the map, players will earn money from completely different tasks and contracts every round that gives the opportunity to buy weapons and equipment before the start of each round.
In addition to the announcement of Danger Zone, it was also announced that the game has gone free to play and that anyone can download the game with all of the game modes immediately.
Players who already own the game will be given "Prime Status" which comes with special benefits like souvenir items, item drops and weapon bags.
Those who want to achieve Prime Status can either reach Rank 21 by earning experience points and add a qualified phone number or buy the Prime Status upgrade for $ 14.99 in the steam shop or in the game.
This Prime Status will be useful to players wishing to unlock the new souvenir weapon "MP5-SD" | Lab Rats before it expires January 9, 2019.
Valve has also released a comprehensive FAQ on Danger Zone to answer all the burning questions that players may have.
