Credible leak l0vetodream today approved widespread speculation that one of the redesigned iMacs, which is expected to launch sometime this year, will have a larger screen than the current largest offering in the iMac series.
Apple currently sells a 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac. It is rumored that Apple will replace both with updated design and faster performance. The desktop computer has not received a significant overhaul since 2012.
According to l0vetodream, the new model that replaces the 27-inch size will have a larger screen. The private tweet translates to “iMac’s screen is very large, larger than the largest”.
While new information, larger screen size can easily be expected. Bloomberg has reported that the new iMac will have thinner frames, metal hook removal and a design language similar to the Pro Display XDR. Pro Display XDR, Apple’s standalone advanced display, has a 32-inch display.
In addition to a redesign, the new iMac will be equipped with the next generation of Apple silicon chips. Internally, Apple tests chips with as many as 16 high-performance cores and four efficiency cores, according to Bloomberg. Hit-and-miss leak Jon Prosser also suggests that the new iMacs come in colors.
