SEATTLE – Colorful lights and lasers illuminated the Space Needle on Monday night as a large crowd gathered at the Seattle Center to call in 2019.
The New Musical Choreographed The show, which lasted about 30 minutes, was added this year to help call in the new year before fireworks at midnight.
"So far," said one person KOMO News within the first few minutes of the light show.
"Oh, I think it's cool. It's our first time here," added another person.
Officers in uniform and regular clothes did the rounds of the Seattle Center as tens of thousands of people took their spots for the big show.
"I'm ready for a new year," said Katie Hanchinamani from Edmonds.
It was a year filled with many ups and downs.
New relationships, new experiences, new experiences and goodbye to all things that happened this year, says Kera Christie from Puyallup.
"I'm willing to let it go," added Elizabeth Williams of Bellingham.
Someone, like Williams, picked up some bling and surrounded himself with family for festivities.
A time to celebrate, reflect and look forward to what the new year will bring.
"I set many goals for myself to stick to this time," said Kristen Cearson of Puyallup.
"Just Happy New Year!" A woman exclaimed. There must be hope for the year. "
