In the years since the Nintendo Switch was launched, we’ve seen a wide range of Joy-Con controller variations. With so many colors on the market, you should be able to find a Joy-Con to express your own individual personality.
However, IGN bigwig Peer Schneider has noticed a sharp problem – and no, it has nothing to do with drifting analog sticks. There are simply too many shades of red within the variations on sales.
In a recent tweet, Peer shows a picture of Neon Red, Super Mario Odyssey Red, Splatoon pink and Joy-Con are included with Mario Red & Blue Edition. And we must admit that he is right – they are all right striking similar, with only one very little difference in hue between them. He also makes the pretty good point that there are colors in the range that Nintendo has not used for Joy-Con yet ̵
At the very least, Peer is impressed that the Switch’s user interface can separate them when they are rooted in the system. Now that’s a nice touch!
We’re still getting comfortable with the two shades of blue on display with the recently unveiled Limited Edition Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Cons. Come on, Nintendo. Choose a shade of blue and stick to it.
