Only last week we heard a new report saying that a new iPad mini can come in early 2019, with production already underway this month. Now we see what may be the first iPad mini 5 case to show some interesting details.

Slasheaks shared on Twitter What looks like a case for the new iPad mini 5, or what Apple mentions the iPad mini 4 sequel.
In particular, there are a few steps if this ends up being a legitimate case for the upcoming iPad mini update. First, there is an elongated camera cutout that matches the new iPad Pro camera configuration. This may mean that the iPad mini 5 gets a snap to follow the camera. The rear microphone is moved to the center of the unit.
It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like a headphone jack is included in this case at the top right (top left when looking at the front of an iPad mini).
It is also what sees a kind of carving in the middle of the unit on the edge, allowing for Apple's first generation smart contact. Although this could only be a functional part of the case, not related to Apple's hardware.
In October, reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPad mini 5 would come in late 2018 or early 2019. But he did say it would include a "low-cost panel" but didn't predict a price point.
Last week's report repeated a low cost for the new iPad mini, so it probably won't include iPad Pro features like a floating Retina display and Face ID.
The current iPad mini 4 sells for $ 399 in just a 128 GB model. It's $ 70 more than the 9.7-inch iPad that comes with 32GB of storage. Based on several reports, it seems likely that the iPad mini 5 comes closer to $ 300.
