Earlier this morning, Capcom unveiled the first screenshot for Oro in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition season 5. Oro is currently scheduled for release in the summer of 2021, following Rose’s release in the spring of 2021.
On the screen, Oro’s mustard yellow skin color is clearly visible on the wrinkled forehead. His eyes also emit a red glow. If we did not already know who Oro was, we would probably be led to believe that Oro was a villainous character based on the red eyes.
It is expected that Oro has a kind of theme that makes him balance a turtle with one hand. In Street Fighter 3, Oro was known for fighting with a hand tied to hold back. He will instead hold and balance a turtle in Street Fighter 5.
Of course, we have already seen how Oro briefly makes the turtle soar when you activate Tengu Stone. Based on the sound effects played during the Oro sneak peek that played towards the end of the Winter Update stream, we believe that Tengu Stone is one of Oro̵
In particular, the turtle in question is seen on top of Oro’s head in Capcom’s new screenshot. Of course, all we can see of the turtle are its legs. Since Oro will be holding the turtle during the game, it looks like it could be Oro’s introductory animation in Street Fighter 5.
Unfortunately, the screen is cut off in Oro’s mouth. However, it makes it clear that Oro has a giant nose and extremely large ears. This makes sense considering that he is a 140 year old hermit, and how the ears and nose are the only parts of the human body that never stop growing.
More information about Oro (and Rose) is expected to be released during the Spring Update stream that will air tomorrow, April 6th. As always, we provide coverage when the news falls tomorrow.
