It’s time to change
Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition players can get hold of the new V-Shift mechanic for the first time tonight, and now we can all see exactly how it works.
Capcom has now released SF5’s training in the game for V-Shift and V-Shift Break in full pauses down the new mechanic including how much damage it does and what happens if it is blocked.
As previously revealed, both V-Shift and V-Shift Break are performed by pressing heavy blows and medium kicks together while a player has at least one stock V-Gauge available.
What̵
When we talk about injuries, we also see an example of a combination follow-up of V-Shift, which does regular damage.
Not only that, but I tested it to see if attacks after Dodge immediately scale down as V-Trigger activations. I can confidentially report that the combination appears to be doing its normal, non-scaled damage.
The break attack seems to do a similar amount of damage compared to V-Reversals also surprising.
V-Shift is coming to SF5 in the season 5 update, which will officially be live tomorrow, although servers go down for maintenance today from 8pm PT.
