Earlier this year, I reported that the next installment of the Call of Duty series would arrive in the middle of the year and be revealed as a Warzone event in the game.
This year’s title is called Call of Duty: Vanguard, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and will take the franchise back to World War II.
Activision has so far only commented “This is a built-in for the next generation experience with stunning cross-campaign graphics, multiplayer and collaborative mode of games designed to both integrate and enhance the existing COD ecosystem” for its next award Duty calls title.
Late August Disclosure date for vanguard
In recent months I have been reporting on it Call of Duty Vanguard will probably be revealed at the end of August, which is partly due to Activision’s new direction in revealing its Duty calls titles via War zone.
Until now, there have been no additional extracts of information suggesting that the release date will be sooner or later, but Gamescom’s latest announcement yesterday may give us some indications.
Gamescom announced that Activision will participate in the annual event, which this year will be digital only and will take place from 25 – 27 August.
Although this does not confirm Call of Duty Vanguard will be revealed before then, it coincides with the rumblings I’ve heard before.
Warzone and Black Ops Cold War’s Reveal
Last year, Activision revealed Black Ops Cold War via a game War zone event, which was the first of its kind Duty calls.
The actual unveiling event took place a couple of weeks after the Modern Warfare season 5 update, where the developers teased fans with War zone Easter eggs for the unveiling on 26 Augustth.
Interesting, next season to meet Black Ops Cold War will be season 5, which is expected to come into operation around 11 Augustth, which sets up the perfect opportunity for a week or two of peas and Easter eggs before the entire game War zone disclose.
By combining all the dates together, we can predict that Call of Duty Vanguard Warzone The unveiling will likely take place between August 18-25, which not only gives developers time to tease, but gives Activision the perfect global stage to talk more about the unveiling at Gamescom.
