Another update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 promises to make Blackout even more dangerous to those participating in the Royal Mayhem match. Treyarch has added Blightfather zombie boss in Blackout for a limited period.
By November 13 you will be able to find Blightfather to the south of asylum, near the cemetery. In the same way as regular zombie horses, Blightfather's presence will be announced with a red light radiating into the sky.
While the first occurrence of zombies on the map already tipped us to Treyarch's will to darken realism in Blackout, it's still interesting to see an actual zombie boss stomping around. It's a move that makes us excited about the future of Blackout, as it means that Treyarch will keep its word that mode will be increasingly developed.
Treyarch says you will be rewarded "okay" if you manage to take it down, but it will not be okay when it takes dozens of bullets to put it on your knees. There is probably something you might want to try with a troop as opposed to walking alone.
In addition, Treyarch also announced temporary removal of 9-bang throw from Blackout. For the uninitiated, the 9-bar is really a flashbang, but the charge can go up to 9 times depending on how long you cook it.
The problem is that the 9-gang was too effective to neutralize an entire group, even though the squad was reasonably dispersed. Some have also complained of the inability to be exposed to being affected by 9-bang.
We are not sure what to do to balance the item to make it less frustrating to play against. In the meanwhile, you can count on concussion grenades ̵
Other Blackout changes include buffs for all light machine guns, swordfish, Spitfire, Rampart 17 and Auger DMR. And for fans of other modes, a number of bug fixes will provide a smoother overall experience. You can read the full details of Treyarch's Reddit posts.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC starting at $ 59.99.
