The next Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta comes soon – and it will be available on more platforms than the first. The weekend 2 event starts at 10:00 on 10 August for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as PC. To enter, you will need a code that you can get in advance or otherwise. GameSpot delivers codes – here's how you enter.
If you play PC and are willing to wait an extra day, there will be an open beta on PC from August 11th. In all cases, the beta ends August 13 at 10.00 PT. You can view the schedule below, as published on the Call of Duty site.
The first Black Ops 4 beta weekend was available only on PlayStation 4 as part of the exclusivity agreement between Activision and Sony. In addition to the first beta access, PlayStation players get Call of Duty DLC before the Xbox One and PC.
If the second weekend is the same as the first one, expect four maps (Payload, Contraband, Seaside and Frequency) as well as modes like Team Deathmatch, Control, Domination and Search & Destroy.
Black Ops 4 beta contains a small selection of full multiplayer packages, which includes multiple maps, modes, scorestreakers and weapons at launch. In addition, Black Ops 4 will have a game of royal mode called Blackout; A beta for this comes in September.
Activision emphasizes that beta is not supposed to be necessarily representative of the final product. So you can come across some mistakes and other rarities, while things like weapon balance and polish are still coming.
"We are listening to your feedback, collecting bug reports, and considering the data we capture about the performance of game content, so the game is as balanced as it might be at launch," says Activision. "It's important that you participate in the conversation through social channels and player support so your voice is heard. "
Black Ops 4 launches on October 12 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It's almost a month earlier than normal for the franchise. Activision has not said exactly why it moved the date, but it may have something to do with a little game called Red Dead Redemption 2, which launches October 26.
