Borderlands 3is coming Director’s Cut expansion provides many updates, but the most exciting bit combines two things players have been asking for for years: something to use Eridium and a way to repeat equipment bonuses.

Gearbox announced today that Borderlands 3 will get two new vending machines when Director’s Cut the update falls next Thursday. While the secret, teleporting, legendary black market sounds nice, I look forward to it – or rather wanted can’t wait if I’m still actively playing the game – is Crazy Earls Reroll.

“Crazy Earl’s Reroll is a great blessing for Vault Hunters who want to get the most out of their equipment,” Gearbox wrote. “By using some of your precious Eridium, Crazy Earls equipment will replace the existing anointing on an item.”

Anointings are some of the most important equipment bonuses in Borderlands 3. They add random effects to weapons, shields, and grenade modes, some of which are class-based and others beneficial no matter what character you play. The game’s “Revenge of the Cartels” event, for example, allowed weapons to fall with an anointing that increased damage by up to 300% on full-health enemies, such as absolutely shred bosses when used with certain weapons.

That said, most anointings offer more mundane bonuses, such as small boosts to speed of movement or stealing life, which increases the time players have to grind for the perfect equipment. Now diehard Vault Hunters will just need to visit Crazy Earls Reroll and release some Eridium – which they more than likely have lying around in bundles after many years of playing Borderlands 3 with little else to spend it on – to try your hands at a better anointing.

In addition to these vending machines, have Director’s Cut update adds a number of updated challenges and side quests, as well as a new raid commander, Hemovorous the Invincible, to Borderlands 3. It will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC and Stadia on April 8.
