BMW announces limited edition 2022 X5 Black Vermilion

Some people will love how this looks, others will think that it seems that it has already spent time in the accessory hall for car parts.

BMW

BMW’s current generation X5 SUV is a reasonably handsome car. It pulls out well what used to be considered large shakes; it has a nice chiseled shape and a well-equipped (if somewhat stunned) interior. Unfortunately, BMW is not happy about letting it be good enough because it announced the 2022 X5 Black Vermilion edition on Sunday.

Black Vermillion? Isn̵

7;t that some kind of fourth-level Marvel character? No – well, maybe yes? It does not matter – there is also a special edition X5 with frozen black paint, very questionable red grill slats and less questionable red brake calipers. No, really, that’s the core of it all: black car, red accents.

The X5 Black Vermilion is exclusively available with 335 horsepower, six-cylinder xDrive40i drivetrain (sorry, V8 fans), and only 350 samples will be shipped to the United States, each from $ 83,295, including BMW’s $ 995 destination fee. For context, the X5 xDrive40i base starts at $ 62,695 while the much more powerful xDrive50i starts at $ 83,795.

So what else do you get for that price difference? Well, to begin with, you get M Shadowline adaptive LED laser lights, which are not otherwise available on xDrive40i. You also get 22-inch orbit gray wheels and an M Sport exhaust system. Inside there is a Merino leather interior with red tubing on the seats, glass controls for the changer and iDrive as well as carbon upholstery. Beyond all this, it’s just a high-choice six-cylinder X5.

If you want to get one of those small, warm hands on one of these Black Vermilions, start toughing your dealer soon. US production is expected to begin between September and December 2021.
