When the end of 2018 is approaching, it also makes the release of several high profile games just in time for the season of giving. And with some of the game's most iconic franchises that fall big titles in the coming months, this year feels particularly crowded. Having said that, these games are currently tipping the scale on hype meters, based on findings from a survey conducted by Nielsen Holdings.

In the multi-platform category, two upcoming triple-A titles are governed overall. Maybe not surprisingly, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 took first and second place respectively. The last Call of Duty department received a score of 99/1

00, while the sequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption achieved 97/100. The calculations that Nielsen ranks for its top players is based on a survey of nearly 6000 participants, conducted between 18 August and 22 September 2018.

A score between 80 and 89 reflects "very strong expectations from players" while one score from 90 to 100 reflects "extremely high expectations from players." The list of over 80 games examined included titles published September to December 2018.

For Platform Exclusive, Spider-Man is unmatched in PlayStation 4- category. Considering Xbox One, it's not typically recognized for its wide range of console shows, it's no surprise that Forza Horizon ranked highest for that platform with a score of 84. However, Nintendo Switch has Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Mario Party in a tie first, each scoring at 98/100.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has received great attention that led to the release this October 26th. Factoring in the eight-year gap between the original release and its sequel, RDR2 s ranking just two points under a major edition of the fresh Call of Duty franchise is remarkable.

To his credit, Black Ops 4 rides not exclusively on the momentum of the Call of Duty name. Black Ops 4 may have what it takes to sate affectionate fans while extending its reach to a new demographic.
