Starfield is going to be a very big and long game, which should come as no surprise to those who have played Bethesda Game Studios’ previous games in The Elder Scrolls and Fall out franchises. How big and for how long, Bethesda does not say exactly, but during a recent interview, Bethesda Game Studios and Starfield director Todd Howard confirm that the game is “very big” and designed to be played for “a long time”. However, it also does not sound like there will be anything beyond what the studio has done before, at least in this regard.
“I do not want to set any false expectations for it. You know, we have cities and we build them as we built the cities we have built before, “Howard said when asked about the game̵
Howard continued, noting that the game will be “very big:”
“People are still playing Skyrim and we have learned from it. We spent more time building Starfield to be played for a long time, if you then chose that you would just keep playing it. It has a few more hooks in it for that, which we later added in a game like Skyrim… while still making sure that someone who just wants to play it, and go through the main missions and “win”, or feel that they have achieved something great is feasible. “
Unfortunately, this is where the insight ends. Right now there is no total number of hours or details of map size. That said, it sounds like Skyrim, which takes 30-40 hours to the main line, 100-110 hours to beat with page content, and 231 hours to 100 percent. In other words, it’s going to be big and long, just like Howard says it is.
Starfield is set for release November 11, 2022 via Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. For more coverage on all things Starfield, Click here.
