A new Back 4 Blood trailer has just premiered during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase.
This expanded the gaze on Back 4 Blood, the new co-op zombie shooter from the creators of Left 4 Dead, includes a deep dive into how the new director system will keep you on your toes every time you play.
You may remember that the Left 4 Dead games also had a director system, which would dynamically change when and where enemies seem to keep the same set of scenes that feel fresh. It has a similar role in Back 4 Blood, but on top of that it will also use major modifiers on each map. The game will reveal these modifiers at the beginning of a map, which means you get the chance to choose your strategy and strain to counteract the director̵
“You’ll start in a safe room with three of your friends, and the game director will play what we call Corruption Cards,” says Papp. “You get to know what kind of challenges he’s going to throw at you and your team by looking at what these cards are. It could be things like Swarm of Bruisers, or Ridden on Fire. And you get to know exactly what you are. will meet.
“So when you see the cards, you get a hand from a deck of cards you have built. And you have to decide which cards to play. Coordination with your team becomes super key here as you can do things like improve the quality of items and weapons available. in the world, you can make it so that your team can carry more molotovs or medkits, or you can even do something cool like, your team gets a health cure when you become disabled. We are very happy to see what you and your friends your do with your cards. “
Back 4 Blood is on its way to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Both PC and console gamers will have a chance to try it in the upcoming open beta – Papp says more information will come soon.
