While fans of Assassin's Creed Odyssey will enjoy the first episode of action RPG's Legacy of the First Blade DLC, they do it with one of the two main characters: Alexios or Kassandra. And here recently, the game director Scott Phillips revealed how many players chose Alexios and how many chose Kassandra during an interview about game development.
The results, according to Phillips, were somewhat surprising. It is worth mentioning that in the games was split between Alexios and Kassandra about 50/50. Phillips even thought that the final figures would show a little more favoriteism against Kassandra when Assassin's Creed Odyssey was completely launched, but it was actually quite the opposite.
As stated, players' usage statistics show that the player division between the two main characters is "two thirds Alexios" and "one-third Kassandra." Considering that Kassandra is the canon protagonist, you can definitely understand Phillips' surprise. However, this is not the only surprise for Phillips and Assassin's Creed Odyssey development team.
Actually, according to Phillips, many of the choices made by the players were surprising for the team. Phillips stopped briefly to reveal all the exact details, but this is probably due to how much the choices weighed in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Given that the players could take a mercenary or a home-country lane throughout the game, many players may have carefully considered their choices.
All in all, Assassin's Creed Odyssey has been incredibly successful with the best launch of the franchise on current consoles. It is probably because of the choice possible throughout the game, beginning but certainly not ending playing like Alexios or Kassandra. Although Origins introduced RPG elements in the franchise, it seems safe to say that Odyssey perfected it for better franchise.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
