Arcade 1Up – known for recreating classic arcade titles like Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam – unveiled a locker for Rare’s release in 1994, Killer Instinct. This is the same game that was ported to Super Nintendo a year later – although there are notable differences between the two versions.
This closet also contains a number of other rare games. It’s the sequel from 1996 Killer Instinct 2, Battletoads (arcade version) and Battletoads & Double Dragon (1993).
“Killer Instinct Fans. Fans loved it, critics loved it. For many retrogamer enthusiasts, it̵7;s a definite mid-90s title, with games, soundtracks and 3D rendered graphics all venerable. Relive that video game era with this stop – you-in-your-tracks arcade cabinets, which also include Killer Instinct 2 ™, Battletoads ™ (yes, the arcade version!) and Battletoads ™ / Double Dragon ™ as a bonus game. “
The cabinet itself can support up to two players, includes a “live wifi feature” – so you can receive opponents online, and can be raised in height.
“Do you need to add some height to this cabinet? No problem, the included matching riser will get you there. Do you want to fight remotely? The live WiFi feature allows you to receive opponents anywhere and play from their own cabinet.”
There is no word on a release date yet, and the design or artwork on the cabinet is not final yet. What do you think? Is this the arcade you have been waiting for? Leave a comment below.
