With Apple wanting to monetize increasing sales of its Macs thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tech giant will reportedly give the MacBook Pro a big boost.
The new laptop, which will be released between September and November, will have a screen that uses 10,000 mini-LEDs to provide higher brightness, deeper blacks and localized backlighting, according to Bloomberg, which first reported the news.
The new screen, which Apple refers to as the Liquid Retina XDR screen, is already available on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, released in April.
Bloomberg reported that the new laptops would be available earlier, but complications around the new miniLED screen have stopped production.

The new MacBook Pro will also use less power thanks to running on a variant of Apple’s M1 chip, believed to be known as the M1X.
The new M1X chip is more powerful and faster than the current M1 chip, which drives the new iPads, as well as a number of different Macs in Apple’s range.
The new chip can have 10 cores, eight for high-performance needs and two that are energy efficient for tasks such as browsing.
The current M1 chips have eight cores, four of which have high performance and four which are energy efficient.
Cupertino, California-based Apple is currently in the process of transferring the entire Mac series to chips designed by Apple, while it had previously used those designed and made by Intel.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro, which runs on the M1 chip, has a battery capacity of up to 17 hours, depending on usage.
The 16-inch version, which still runs on Intel chips, has a battery capacity of up to 11 hours, depending on usage.
The M1 chips have lower power requirements than Intel processors, which Apple had used in its computers for more than 15 years.
As a result, Macs are now able to run the same apps as the mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad.
