Apple mentions four new iPhones, MagSafe charger in FCC filing ahead of September 14th


An update to the MagSafe charger may come next to the next line of iPhones, according to an FCC record.

Apple may have taken a fresh look early MagSafe charger and references to it are assumed iPhone 13 line in an application to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Monday. The archive, focused on the magnetic charger, was viewed on the FCC’s website the day before Apple announced a September 14 event it is rumored to be there new phones and a new one Apple watch can make his debut.

Previously discovered by 9to5Mac and MacRumors, the archive shows four “New Phone” entries along with four “Legacy” phone entries, the latter corresponding to iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Although the document does not show any obvious differences between last year’s MagSafe charger and this new one, it does show that the charger is used to charge both AirPods and iPhones, either directly or in the case. The current MagSafe charger can charge any Qi-enabled wireless charger, but is magnetically connected to the iPhone 12 line so far.

The four “New Phone” listings lead credibility to rumors that this year iPhone 13 series will repeat last year’s, possibly including Mini, Pro and Pro Max models along with a standard iPhone 13.

MagSafe was a big highlight at the unveiling of the iPhone 12 last year, which has since grown to include one battery pack, phone cases and other magnetic accessories.

Apple did not return the request for comment.
