Apple this month announced a new mentoring program for Launch @ Apple designed for first-generation students, with the program to be launched in early 2021.
According to a PDF describing Launch @ Apple, it is aimed at first-generation first-year and second-year students majoring in economics, math, economics, business, data analysis and accounting.
It matches students one-on-one with Apple tutors who are able to provide learning resources and opportunities for professional growth, with the option of job shadowing, paid internships and paid internships.
Apple has not announced Launch @ Apple, and it is not entirely clear how the word is spread. MyHealthyApple shared details this morning, and last week, a LinkedIn post highlighted the program. Before launching in early 2021, Apple accepts applications from students with a wide range of GPAs.
Students must be in their first or second year of study with a parent or guardian who has not obtained a college degree. Students must want to learn about economics in a “fast-paced, innovative environment” and must have a master’s degree in one of the accepted subjects.
Apple accepts applications through Friday 8. January 2021, and students wishing to participate must provide details of school, GPA, CV and more, and are required to answer personal questions about life challenges, why they should be accepted and what gives them joy. Applications must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
