Apple iCloud sign-in and activation do not work for some users



To all of you who have received a new Apple device for Christmas, congratulations! However, you may have trouble setting up and signing in to iCloud with other Apple users. First reported by Apple InsiderAs of Saturday morning, Apple’s system status page showed “some users affected” by an issue that started around 4.45 ET ET on December 25th. “Users may experience a problem with this service,” the status update states.

The problem seems to affect several devices. The system status page does not show issues with other parts of iCloud or other Apple services. Apple Support tweeted Friday afternoon that they were aware of the issue, saying it “is experiencing high capacity at this point, affecting your ability to set up iCloud, try in a few hours.”

; The message was addressed to a user who was trying to set up their mother’s new iPad and HomePod mini.

It is still not clear how widespread the problem is, but there has been no further update from Apple for several hours. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment The Verge on Saturday morning. We will update this article with new information if we hear from them.
