- A recently discovered iPhone hack shows how users can quickly reorganize multiple apps on the home screen at the same time.
- The clever trick makes it much easier for people to set up their iPhone just the way they want.
As an avid iPhone user for more than a decade, I usually do not come up with iPhone tips and tricks that I have not experienced before. And sure, new tricks and solutions inevitably bubble to the surface every time Apple introduces a new iteration of iOS, but these discoveries are usually revealed slowly but surely over the beta release period.
But every time in a blue moon, a new trick will appear out of nowhere and blow me away. And today, my friends, is one of those days. The latest example comes to us via TikTok from everywhere. The current trick provides an incredibly effective way for users to move apps en masse to a completely different phone screen. Tip is a lifesaver for anyone who wants to reorganize the design of their iPhone or iPad.
For example, say you want to move eight applications from the home screen to the other side of apps on your device. Normally, you will tap an app and select the “Edit Home Screen” option from the context menu. When the apps started spinning, you would manually drag each application, one by one, from the Home screen to the other side of the apps. Needless to say, this can quickly become tedious, especially if you try to move apps from the home screen to, for example, the fifth page of apps on the iPhone.
However, this iPhone trick allows you to simultaneously select multiple applications and move them to another page at the same time. This is how it works.
To get started, long press an app icon until the context menu appears. From there, select “Edit Home Screen”. When the applications start to rotate, press an application you want to move to another page and move it slightly in all directions. You want to make sure you keep your finger on the app at all times. From there, with your finger still on the screen, grab the other finger and just tap any other application you want to move to another page. When you do, you will see that all recently lost applications are whipped away to the first app icon. It may seem like you are adding all the apps to a folder, but this is not the case.
Once you have selected each app you want to move, drag the collection of app icons to the right or left, depending on which page you want to move them to. When you do, all the selected apps will appear on the new page.
