Apple was today given a design patent on the outside of Steve Jobs Theater …
The patent is for the appearance of the overhead glass building, rather than some of the technology used in theater.
The design is a failing simple one: A circular glass wall without support columns, topped by a carbon fiber roof.
The 1000-seat auditorium was named by Apple back in February last year.
] To honor his memory and his lasting influence on Apple and the world, the theater at Apple Park is called Steve Jobs Theater. Opening later this year, the entrance to the 1000-seat auditorium is a 20 foot tall glass cylinder, 165 feet in diameter, supporting a metallic carbon fiber coating. The Steve Jobs Theater is located on a hill – one of the highest points in the Apple Park – overlooking the meadows and main building.
The theater was allegedly released for at least $ 180 million of the total $ 5B prize at the Apple Park campus.
The first event that was held at the theater was the announcement of iPhone X and iPhone 8 / Plus in September last year.
The patented entrance sits above an exhibition space used for handsets after launch time, while the auditorium itself sits under a hillside to a side.
