Apple Arcade expands its game selection, and it again contains a mix of brand new (if known) originals and well-established classics. The all-you-can-play service will be added “soon” Tetris Beat, an Arcade original from N3twork that mixes Alexei Pajitnov’s puzzle with rhythm game elements. The more you stick to the rhythm, the bigger your combinations will be. The soundtrack includes well-known names such as Alison Wonderland and Hannah Diamond, so you can like it just for the music.
The second upcoming title, Monster Hunter Stories (below), will be more than a little known – it’s a year old adaptation of the turn-based Capcom RPG that debuted on the 3DS. The game turns the usual premise on its head by turning you into a “rider”
Two more veteran games will join. Halfbrick’s Jetpack Joyride makes the endless runner (flyer?) available without worrying so much about in-app purchases, while Neko Atsume offers quiet cat collections as a foil to the other, more hectic games in the collection.
As before, Apple does not trust a game that draws you to the Arcade. Like previous additions, these latest listings are more about making a stronger overall case for Apple’s $ 5 per month service – you may be more likely to sign up (or get it as part of an Apple One package) if you know titles like Tetris Beat and Monster Hunter Stories is just a quick download away.
