Apex Legends players demand change to “annoying” animation when they loot

Some Apex Legends players call for a change or direct removal of the animation to pick up a teammate’s banner – which shows how it can seriously disrupt a match. Others claim that it is meant that way.

Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment is constantly inundated with change requests for the game from the Apex community. This is in addition to major requests such as cross-progression, which Respawn says they are working on, as well as private matches for all players, which are also “still under development”.

With Apex Legends’ large player base, there will always be a huge list of requests from society – but often society itself cannot agree on things. An example is about the animation to pick up a teammate̵

Giving a dead teammate is a risky affair – but some players want it to be smoother.

In a post on Reddit, an Apex player waited to have to see his teammate’s banner before looting his box. In the clip, the animation to look at the teammate banner got in the way of looting the box, causing the player precious time and getting them killed.

When you are under heavy fire, those few seconds are extremely valuable, and costing you the weapon the few moments can cost you your life.

One user said: “My problem is that animation takes so long. This is my f ** king teammate, I do not need to check the label to make sure I got the right banner. ”

Players also complain about how long the animation time lasts, as it leaves you vulnerable, and a player says “Yes, it just looks so annoying.”

But other players believe that animation length is meant to be and should be there to put you at a disadvantage. “That animation takes a long time for the reason that it’s a game mechanic, so you have to deliberately spend time without your gun taking up your teammate’s banner,” claimed another player.

The changes to the teammate’s banner animation can be added to the laundry list of changes players are looking for from Apex, although this is smaller in scale compared to the others as private lobbies.

The team that works with Apex always listens to feedback, and has implemented a number of quality of life corrections based on the player’s recommendations, especially from Reddit.

We will have to wait and see if Respawn thinks these complaints are valid and announces potential changes.
