Season 9 of Apex Legends is now just around the corner, and while the conversation will be about the new Legend, there are a few existing characters that need some attention. Here are four legends that really need some major improvements in the new season.
Outside of Horizon, which is possibly the best legend in the game right now, many of the new legends after the launch usually have worse than to begin with, before some buffers were later added to improve them.
Despite this, there are a number of new legends who are still not competitive enough, and if they do not get any meaningful buffs, they will stay even longer when new characters arrive.
All four of our choices for the most needy are legends after the launch, starting with season 6̵
It will be no surprise at all to see Rampart’s first name on this list, and we’m sure she’s also her first name on Respawn’s list.
The latest data Respawn has shared indicates that Rampart has the worst win. And it’s not just the data, players simply know that Rampart is not versatile enough in the game.
It is not that Rampart is useless – it is that she is useless in many situations. If you can be set up in a strong position, and get Shiela and Amped Cover up, it’s a powerful combination.
But with these situations so rare, Rampart needs a little help to make her more viable, more often.
Fans of Crypto will say that he is one of the best legends when you first get along with him. While this may be true, it does not change the fact that players simply should not choose a legend who does not have the immediate satisfaction.
It is true that if you can work as a team, and carefully consider when to use Crypto’s abilities, it is possible to gain a serious advantage over enemy troops. Additional information about the enemy’s whereabouts is always positive.
But the benefits end there, and a little more functionality for the drone will be the perfect solution. A fan-made idea was to let Crypto see how many troops were in the area by checking banners around the arena, another good option.
Respawn has said they will do something with Crypto in the future, but is not yet sure what it will be.
Released in season 8, there were high hopes for Fuse’s kit after seeing all the trailers. On paper, a large firebomb, constant grenades and a super-accurate arm thrower sounded like a deadly new character.
Unfortunately, Fuse has slipped into Rampart territory. With the second worst win, it is not clear that Fuse lives up to the hype.
It is difficult to find out exactly why this is, as there are still early stages, but we know that situational legends with a lack of mobility (just like Rampart) always struggle in the meta.
Securing will definitely require some buffs, and Respawn has confirmed that he will get a boost – but we do not know what it is yet.
Finally, we must mention Loba. The problem with Loba is not really that her abilities are not strong, it is that they do not work. In particular, Loba’s Tactical, Burglar’s Best Friend, is just too buggy to be reliable.
So really, all Loba needs is her tactical to function as intended, and she will immediately become a much more popular choice. Her ultimate, Black Market Boutique, is already very powerful, and the buffet that allows endless ammunition to be looted is perfect.
If the devs really want to make Loba even stronger, they can also reduce the animation time after using the teleport, so players can get up faster.
The good news is that devs have confirmed that the current solutions for Loba are a difference between night and day.
These are the four legends we would like to see drastically improved in season 9 – but everyone has their own favorite character they would like to see improved. Respawn will be hard at work trying to perfect the balance for future seasons, so season 9 patch notes will be a very interesting read.
