Launch on PS4, PS5 and Steam.
Maquette, the gorgeous “recursive” first-person puzzle adventure from developer Graceful Decay, finally has a release date and heads to PlayStation and PC on March 2nd.
A maquette, in case you were wondering, is a small preliminary model made by a sculptor before embarking on a full-scale project. It is a suitable moniker for a game that has model-like environments placed in larger versions of itself ̵
For example, dropping a cube on a model of a courtyard can (to use an example discussed in the latest trailer below) cause a larger version of the cube to simultaneously materialize in the courtyard around the model, and perhaps provide a means to to move on.

Annapurna Interactive – the publisher behind the acclaimed Outer Wilds, What Remains of Edith Finch, I Am Dead, and now this – Maquette describes quite succinctly as “a unique puzzle about exploring relationships in a recursive world”.
Its spacious intertwine intertwines with a story of “love, loss and acceptance” centered on Kenzie and Michael, a fictional couple looking back on their relationship, played by Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World, Black Mirror) and Seth Gabel (Fringe , Nip / Tuck) respectively.
Maquette costs $ 19.99 USD (around £ 15) for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Steam early next month, March 2nd.
