AMD Ryzen 7 3700X: 12C / 24T at a large 5GHz

AMD enters CES 2019 with some rather big rumors about the upcoming Zen 2-based processors, a family of CPUs that will be led by the flagship Ryzen 9 3800X as a large 16C / 32T beast of a processor.

The new rumors come from a leak from a Russian dealer suggesting Ryzen 9 3800X rocks 16 cores and 32 threads CPU performance with one base clock of 3.9GHz and turbo clock of 4.7GHz, all achieved at only 1

25W. There will be two 12C / 24T processors on the new 3000 series processors with Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 7 3700, with the Ryzen 7 3700X rocking 5GHz turbo watches for 105W.

I think the Ryzen 7 3700X should be one of the most important CPUs in the Zen 2 processor, with 12C / 24T rollout at 5GHz, we should see some good overclockers up to 5.2GHz and 5.3GHz, or even more with better cooling. All this for 105W should be good while pulling the base clock down 400MHz to 3.8GHz and the turbo clocks down 400MHz to 4.6GHz from 5GHz, the TDP savings are 10W down to 95W from 105W at 3700X.

The leap that rumor Ryzen 9 3800X makes over the current Ryzen 7 2700X flagship CPU is huge, as the Ryzen 7 2700X is "just" an 8C / 16T processor while the alleged Ryzen 9 3800X is a large 16C / 32T animal. We speak first generation Ryzen Threadripper 1990X quantities shallow, with higher clock speed. The Ryzen 7 3700X is better than any previous generation Ryzen CPU with out of port 5GHz with its huge 12C / 24T. This gives the next level of core values, improved IPC performance from Zen 2, and the first Zen-based CPU to shut down 5GHz out of the box.

From there, we have the Ryzen 5 family of processors that have been upgraded to 8C / 16T as the flagship Ryzen 5 3600X and Ryzen 5 3600, with 4.8 GHz turbo clocks at Ryzen 5 3600X and 4.4GHz at 3600. Overclocked Ryzen 5 3600X uses 30W more power to get its CPU clocked 400MHz higher with a 95W alleged TDP, while the 4.4 GHz clocks on the Ryzen 5 3600 only use 65W.

65W is also what the new Ryzen 3 3300X will use, with it rolling out like a 6C / 12T processor at 4.3 GHz, while the Ryzen 3 3300 is supposed to roll out at 4 GHz and using only 50W of power. 19659014] (function (d, s, id) {
