Amazon’s Open World MMO, New world, has again been delayed. The developer now expects the game to start on August 31. “We have worked hard on convincing play-off features we believe are important to have at launch,” reads an update on the game’s page. “These features will not be ready for the spring time frame that we had communicated.”
Developments at Amazon have been bumpy. New world has already had its share of criticism also for its depictions of European colonization. The tent pole game, which was previously intended for a launch in 2020, was pushed from the August date to the spring of 2021
In today’s post, New worldThe developer said that “with this extra time we will be able to add these significant improvements as we polish and fine-tune the entire game before opening Aeternum’s shores to the world.” The developer plans to continue its alpha testing and expand to European servers on March 20. A closed beta is scheduled for July 20.
