The Acer Predator and Nitro gaming series get some serious accessories on the IFA 2018, with new displays and even a full chair, Predator Thronos. Supports up to three 27-inch screens on an overhead support, Predator Thronos chair stands full 1.5 meters high.
It is finished with dual-tone black with white or blue accents, with luster and patterns. Designed to reset up to 140 degrees, there are integrated "deep shock" vibrations, allowing the chair to shake and tough with gameplay. The whole thing is motorized, tilted back by pressing a single button, with adjustable footrest for longer sessions.
In addition to supporting a triple screen shot in front of you, there is also room for a Predator gaming PC – like Predator 9000, 5000 or 3000 announced by Acer earlier this year, and recently received an NVIDIA RTX upgrade. No words on price or availability for Predator Thronos at this stage, but. Acer tells us that it will announce them over time.
A bit less melodramatic – but a reasonable degree more achievable – is the new Predator XB273K game monitor. Predicted to $ 1,299 when it comes to North America in the fourth quarter of this year, it packs a 27-inch 3840 x 2160 @ 144 Hz IPS panel, with a gloss-free finish and 400 mains power. It will cover 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color group, with 10-bit and 1.07mb color support.
Connections include HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, SPK, audio output and a four-port USB 3.0 hub. There are stereo 4W speakers, and it will both tilt and swing. NVIDIA G-SYNC is also included, and Predator XB273K is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. Acer will throw a screen cover there too.
More affordable is the new Acer Nitro display area. Three 27-inch monitors, line-up include AMD Radeon FreeSync support and Visual Response Boost for smoother graphics. Top of the line-up is Nitro XV273K, with a 4K UHD IPS panel and 95-percent DCI-P3 coverage, priced at $ 899 when it's in sales in Q4.
The Acer Nitro XV272U will be priced at $ 499 and has a 27-inch WQHD IPS panel with 95 percent DCI-P3 coverage. Finally, the Nitro XF272U will use a WQHD TN panel – for higher brightness and better energy efficiency – with 90 percent DCI-P3 coverage, priced at $ 449. Everyone wants at least two HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, audio output (and built-in speakers ) and a four port USB 3.0 hub.
Then there are Nitro accessories. It is a Nitro keyboard, with ABS membrane keys supporting multicolored backlight divided into three zones. It will be priced at $ 29.99 and launch in the fourth quarter. Nitro Mouse has seven buttons, including fire extinguisher, six level adjustable DPI, lighting, and is rated for up to 4000 DPI. Acer will include optional weights (5g x 4) and a 5m click lifetime warranty, and it will also be priced at $ 29.99.
A Nitro Headset has an adjustable tape with crucial slider, acoustically tight earpads, and uses 50mm drivers. It is also an omnidirectional boom microphone. It comes for sale for $ 39.99, also in the fourth quarter of 2018.
