650 HP 2022 Bentley Continental GT Speed has a 208 MPH top speed – Robb report

Bentley has taken a number of steps to ensure that the Bentley Continental GT Speed 2022 lives up to its name.

The British brand has just unveiled the new and improved version of its royal large turner high-performance variant. And thanks to an upgraded W12 engine, it may be the most dynamic Bentley yet.

Speed’s 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 may not be new, but it is optimized. The specially tuned turbine is now capable of generating 650 horsepower and 664 ft lbs of torque, according to the automaker. This is an increase of 24 horsepower compared to the standard Continental GT W12, although the torque is the same. Paired with an eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission that has been recently calibrated to shift gears twice as fast as before, the engine can shoot the elegant speed machine from zero to 60 km / h in just 3.5 seconds, a tenth of a second faster than the base W12, and push it to a top speed of 208 mph.

Bentley has hurt to ensure that Speed is also more driver-friendly. The variant now has all-wheel steering together with an electronic differential with limited sliding. These elements provide more agility and stability than other Continental GTs, especially when it comes to changing directions at low and medium speeds. Other upgrades include a three-chamber active air suspension with adaptive damping and Bentley’s Dynamic Ride system that uses 48-volt active anti-roll bars. Newly developed carbon-ceramic brakes are also available, which will significantly improve the car’s stopping power.

The Speed’s litany of upgrades is not just limited to hidden improvements. The exterior has been given a subtle makeover, including a dark hue on the grille, air intakes, side fenders and screen arches. It also has special markings, including a Speed icon on the passenger fascia, and runs on light silver 22-inch, trim-specific wheels. These adjustments may sound minimal, but they give the coupe a much more muscular bearing. The interior has also been spray-painted with the seats and steering wheel, which are now wrapped in two-tone leather and Alcantara upholstery. You can also choose between 15 primary colors and 11 secondary colors when customizing the cottage.

Although a fixed date has not been set, the Continental GT Speed is expected to be sold later this year. We’re still waiting for pricing information, but we expect the latest variant to start well north of the $ 202,500 starting price on the Continental GT V8 and the $ 218,900 starting price on the Continental GT W12.
