Fortnite players may have seen that the new Boogie Down Emotion can be unlocked free by activating 2FA (also called two-factor authentication) on their epic account. Below we will tell you how to enable 2FA and what it means for your security.
To enable 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) in Fortnite
To add 2FA to your epic account, follow the steps below:
- Visit the Unreal Engine Accounts website and log in with the correct credentials.
- Select "Password and Security."
- At the bottom of the page, select an option to enable two-factor authentication via an app or email. Email is probably the easiest choice if you do not plan to keep it. With an authentication app, you can use apps like Google Authenticator, LastPass, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy to send you a unique code every time you log in.
Whenever you enable one of the two 2FA options, the Boogie Down emote will be part of the Fortnite creator.
What is 2FA in Fortnite?
Tofactor Authentication means that you must enter two codes each time your epic account is logged in from a new location. In addition to your default password, 2FA also sends a short code to your email or app based on the option you selected above. 2FA means that it takes longer to sign in, but it prevents your epic account from hackers who will steal your V-Bucks and credit card information. Especially if you have made a lot of purchases in Fortnite we recommend that you keep 2FA enabled even after you have received Boogie Down emote.
Fortnite has early access to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Mobile. The 2FA offer is available on all platforms.
