Control on the original PlayStation
Remedy takes us back to 1996 with a fun gameplay teaser of Control in PS1 style. You can check out the video here. Remedy released the video with the following message:
“As of today, you can play Control exclusively on the first PlayStation system. Here’s a short clip, thanks to our most important game designer, Tommi Saalasti, the driving force behind this port. Hope you enjoy it!”
Valorant: Agents of Romance
The official Valorant Twitter account revealed a new visual novel for romance called Valorant: Agents of Romance. It’s unclear if this is really a joke or a real game going on, but we hope it’s real!

Valorant Patch Notes 33 1/3: The Final Patch
A visual novel for romance was not the only thing Riot shared for April Fools’ Day. It also revealed a number of interesting note notes. Here are some of the highlights:
- Cypher is now being replaced by a Spycam
- “If Spycam inadvertently wants to use guns, we thought, might as well go all the way.“
- Melee weapons replaced with toothpicks to better represent their hit box

Experimental update of overwatch
But what if Mei was a tank? Blizzard released an interesting set of experimental patch notes on the Overwatch website like you can read here. Here is an example of a change with some interested developer comments:

“Development Comment: The enemy team will often disrespectfully ignore pilot D.Va. It will now be harder to survive a mech being dropped on you. “

Bidoof takes over Pokemon
Pikachu has been replaced by Bidoof on The Pokemon Company social media. Not only that, but there are many Bidoof gifs, images, marketing emails with a picture of Bidoof, and even a fan camera.

World of Warcraft Patch 9.0.5.0.5
The World of Warcraft team usually shows up with a sort of April Fools’ joke, and this year they chose to post patch notes filled with references to memes and other media.
Here are a few new things that “come” to World of Warcraft with the update 9.0.5.0.5. Emphasis on quotation marks.
- New Raid: The Winter Queen’s Gambit
- New Dungeon: A Fungus
- New profession: Sea Shanty Song Singing
- New profession: Wand Vision
